This year is filled with bezel-less Smartphones. It’s shaping up to be a new big trend in the industry because manufacturers are in a rush to release their own bezel-less Smartphones. The Gionee M7 Power is not your typical all-screen device. While it’s one of the biggest appeals, it also boasts a huge battery as the name suggests. But, is it worth-buying? Let’s find out.
The Gionee M7 Power looks expensive thanks to its aluminum body. The front is dominated by screen and just a small portion of it is bezels. It lends a futuristic appeal to the phone. Aside from the design, the build quality is also excellent. It feels tough and fits in the hand. If you’re into big flashy Smartphones, this will suit your taste. The rear is unique as it’s composed of 3 different textures. Some handsets usually have one or two, so this will definitely stand out. The top has a textured bar running across the edges. It houses the camera and LED flash. And then, right below it is a glossy texture. There’s another layer at the bottom. The company seems to have put much thought into designing this device, which is a good thing. At 199g, the phone feels solid. Around the edges, you will find the charging port, 3.5mm headset jack, volume rocker, and speaker grille.
There is a 6-inch HD + screen on the front. Provided that it sports an all-screen design, it still feels compact despite the large display. Speaking of color reproduction, there are other devices that deliver better quality in this area. However, we would label it as good although the color saturation is pretty clear. The viewing angles, on other hand, are great. You won’t notice color shift when seeing the device from different angles. It also emits a sufficient amount of light, which is why text is still readable in direct sunlight. Another important thing you should know is that it offers 18:9 aspect ratio, so it’s ideal for watching movies and media consumption in general.
The phone has a 13MP rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture and a 8MP selfie camera with a f/2.2 aperture. It’s apparent that camera isn’t supposed to be a major selling point because the quality is good, but not the best. There are literally many phones that can easily challenge this phone’s camera performance. With proper lighting, the rear camera takes decent shots. But when you bring it indoors, it will struggle. Sharpness is there, but colors aren’t so much. Well, at least it comes with modern features like bokeh effect and stuff. The front-facing camera also does a good job, but it’s not optimized for selfie lovers, so don’t expect spectacular results.
On the paper, the Gionee M7 Power is quite reliable as it’s powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor. While it’s not the speediest offering, it can still handle tasks smoothly. The 4GB of RAM also helps deliver smooth multitasking. The built-in storage is 64GB. It’s spacious already, but if you need more space to store games and files, just insert a microSD card into the slot. It can accommodate up to 256GB.
Many people will be excited to own this phone for the battery alone. It packs a 5000mAh battery, which is big for the specs. It doesn’t have the highest resolution display or a power-draining processor. This, in turn, helps extend the battery life up to 2 days. Yes, you can play games, listen to music, and do other stuff without worrying about running out of power because it lasts long.
